Taylor Lautner's Muscle Building Routine
Just between you and me, I haven't seen any of the Twilight movies. But I did notice how fast Taylor Lautner gained muscle for
his role in 'Twilight - Breaking Dawn': The guy put on 30 pounds of muscle in a year!
My first impression was, 'He has to be taking steroids!', but I decided to be objective and look into it. Based on the information I uncovered, I think Taylor Lautner gained 30lbs of muscle mass in a year without drugs! Consider this: As a growing teenager, Taylor might have gained 10 to 20 pounds in a year with no training or special diet. If he watched his diet very closely and worked out a little, the additional muscle gain could be very possible without drugs, in my opinion. The real challenge for a teenage boy is, they usually have a hyper-fast metabolism, so they need more food than most in order to grow muscle. For example: It was widely publicised that Michael Phelps ate 12,000 calories a day during his training for the Olympics. Mr. Lautner said his trainer followed him everywhere and made sure he ate every 2 hours. He also said he constantly felt full. I can tell you from experience, that is the only way to grow muscle this aggressively! Here are a couple key quotes from Taylor Lautner, to illustrate the point:
"I had put on a lot of weight, and then I started losing it drastically, so I was worried. It turned out I was over-working myself." Mr. Lautner backed his workouts down to 5 days a week, and he made a point to get more sleep. When he made these adjustments; he quickly got back on track! A little gym work can go a long way, as long as you........................wait for it......................EAT RIGHT! The diet provided below is how Mr. Lautner eats to maintain his muscle mass. He's a little older now, so his metabolism has likely slowed down a bit.
Here's the diet that prepared Taylor Lautner for his role in Twilight - Breaking Dawn:Meal 1: Egg whites, oatmeal, orange juice. Meal 2: Almonds and nuts. Meal 3: Albacore tuna, or chicken with veggies and brown rice. Meal 4: Almonds and nuts. Meal 5: Grilled fish or chicken, brown rice, steamed vegetable, salad. Post Workout: Protein shake. If you want to maximize muscle growth, the post workout meal is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast is a close second. I think it's very possible that Taylor Lautner gained a great deal of muscle mass without 'cheating'. If that is the case, he should be proud of this accomplishment! not everyone has the self-discipline to do what it takes to get in shape. He can take this experience with him for the rest of his life, as proof of what can be done with a little dilligence, patience, and hard work.
